Hi! I’m Madeline.
When painting, I am like the seagulls flying into the acrylic sunset. I am free. Outside of my dining room studio, I pay attention— to strangers at restaurants, to a woman’s faraway look, to the extraordinariness of a baby’s eyes. Art is everywhere and all consuming, color and whimsy somehow conjured into being by the emptiness of the canvas itself. As I grow older, I hope to keep my amazement and wonder at the surface while deepening my technical skill.
When painting, I am like the seagulls flying into the acrylic sunset.
I am free.

My First Book:
Introducing
Author’s Note
The Peacock Tree is a great read-aloud for kids ages 0 to 5.
A stay in a magical English castle inspired me, and it has a lot of pictures because I had my little brother in mind. This book imagines an ancient conversation between an 800-year-old castle and a 400-year-old oak tree where all the castle peacocks go each night.
About the book
You see, The Peacock Tree is real and so is the Castle. Rumors of Robin Hood's bow-stashed up the Castle's chimney-still circulate in the neighboring villages of Helpston and Marholm. Here, each night, the peacocks flutter up to the high branches of the old proud oak tree. Here an ancient conversation about the simpler times of a simpler place was imagined. Here the children realize what we all must do: take care of each other.
