Some Things Never Change

Description:

Inspired by the contrast between the old and new West, the watercolor emphasizes this divide: the black-and-white urban left symbolizes fading freedom, while the colorful desert right captures the cowboy's nostalgia and yearning for the past. Violence connects the old and new West, with the old being murdered by the new’s superior weapons. One cowboy ducks behind a car, a symbol of modernity, but he knows he's the last of his kind. I created it for my 'The West' English class.
